Russell Roofing Ltd is a member of the Keystone Group and a professional roofing contractor with over 40 years of industry experience. From small domestic work to major civil projects, they have built a strong reputation for quality and reliability.
"Having our employees fully CSCS accredited is a major benefit for both the individual and the business,” says Director, Paul Walters. “We’ve been using Construction Learning World to support our workforce in obtaining NVQs. With up to fifty operatives on site at any one time, it’s important that all our people have the right skills and qualifications. We are dedicated to providing high quality work and we fully endorse the need for industry training and the requirement for a safer working environment. So far, the majority of the workforce has achieved either a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification with Construction Learning World, and I believe that this has been a significant factor in our continued growth.”
Derek Mace is taking a Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations – Lorry Loader. Derek is deaf, so to make sure that his NVQ profiling session would meet his needs, a British Sign Language interpreter from the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) attended the session. Over the next twelve to sixteen weeks, Derek will work with an assessor from Construction Learning World to achieve his NVQ.
“I’m learning for the future,” says Derek. “It’s important for me to have knowledge of health and safety on my job and the NVQ will help me to show that I’m fully trained.”
