LPL Construction is a building and civil engineering company working across East Anglia, London and the South East. The company has grown over 40 years and today, along with its sister company, E. Corr Plant Hire, directly employs around 150 people in a wide range of roles, including construction workers, HGV drivers and plant operatives, as well as project and site managers.
LPL Construction Services operate in East Anglia, East London and South East England offering quality services in civil engineering, building, maintenance, fit out and demolition.
LPL has a strong record in safety performance on site with no major accidents in its history. This impressive record is explained by Health and Safety Manager, Martin Prior:
“LPL believes in training people. Whilst I was completing my NEBOSH qualification I heard about the training being offered to employers through the Train to Gain programme and contacted a Skills Broker. The broker listened to my needs and recommended Construction Learning World, who would be able to meet our training and assessment needs.
“One of the best ways to tackle health and safety is to get people properly trained and competent. We ensure that management and operatives alike are fully trained with a minimum requirement of induction, CSCS/CPCS, Basic Working at Height and Manual Handling Techniques. The addition of Level 2 and 3 NVQs across the workforce builds upon this training and also recognises our continuing drive for quality and safety.”
“When I talked to Pieter Eksteen from Construction Learning World, I had confidence that Learning World would be able to deliver what I needed.”
“We have 20 people undertaking a range of Level 2 NVQs including Construction Operations, Site Logistics and Plant Maintenance. In addition, CLW are administrating Health and Safety Tests and CSCS/CPCS card registration. We also intend that some of the employees will continue on to Level 3 qualifications in Site Supervision. We need a flexible workforce, which is why CLW is working with us to support some of the team to take NVQs in both Construction Operations as well as Plant Operations.”
