Construction Learning World, the largest provider of NVQ assessment and training to the construction sector, had a double celebration last week, with the official opening of its new head office in Nottingham and being recognised as Train to Gain Provider of the Month.
Since being set up in 2003, the company has expanded to become a nationwide provider of training and assessment services to the construction industry, having helped more than 22,000 construction workers gain an NVQ during this time.
To officially open the new premises, Regional Director of the Learning and Skills Council East Midlands, Tom Crompton, along with representatives from Construction Skills and the Barratt’s Group, attended the event.
“Construction Learning World has grown rapidly year on year and we had literally out grown our old offices”, said Chief Executive Officer Helen Smith. “Each month we are processing over 750 CSCS and CPCS card applications, as well as booking over 1,000 health and safety tests. Our new home at Aspect Business Park is ideally suited to keep pace with our projected business growth.”
In addition, Construction Learning World also recently received the news that it was the first training provider to win the East of England Train to Gain Provider of the Month Award. The award recognises the company’s leading performance in delivering training and assessment to construction employers through the Train to Gain initiative.
Over the first three months of the academic year, CLW helped nearly 300 construction workers, in nearly 200 businesses in the East of England, to gain an NVQ and also increased the number of employed people taking Skills for Life courses in English and Maths.
The Learning and Skills Council for the East of England, which organised the award, also recognised the company’s responsiveness for engaging and working with both employers and learners within the construction sector.
